As a researcher, James is devoted to telling the story of how we constitute, shape, and reinterpret personal and collective identity.
As an art educator, James works tirelessly so that his Syracuse University Art Education graduates are equipped trained to lead their own students as partners in the development of beautiful and needful objects and products, in expressing both themselves and their communities and contexts, and in critiquing contemporary visual culture while also envisioning the not-yet-visible at the cusp of creation.
As an author, James endeavors to reveal that character begins with sacrifice and creativity begins with social dialogue.
As a partner in Rolling Enterprises Inc., James spearheads Simple Word Publications, the publishing division of the company. Dr. Rolling is represented by the Ayesha Pande Literary Agency.
